Farmers face severe vulnerabilities due to climate change, including erratic monsoons and soil degradation, compounded by market uncertainties and limited access to resources and knowledge.
What We Accomplished
With the Farmers Cup, a movement of collective farming and natural pesticide management swept across Maharashtra. Thousands of farmers learned about standard operating procedures in farming via digital farming schools that improved their yields.
How We Did It
Paani Foundation devised an ecosystem which would empower farmers with the skills, knowledge, and training to improve their incomes. Along with creating a competition platform for farmers, we partnered with the top agricultural universities of Maharashtra to set up Digital Farming Schools for all major Kharif crops.
