Jamnalal Bajaj Vishwaneedam

Jamnalal Bajaj Vishwaneedam (JBV) is a Bengaluru-based non-profit organization that offers online and offline skill-based training courses to help underprivileged women become economically independent. Founded in 1960 to honor Shri Jamnalal Bajaj, JBV is run by the Jamnalal Bajaj Seva Trust and funded by the Bajaj Family Trusts.   
 

Inspired by Shri Jamnalal Bajaj's belief in gender equality, JBV provides various vocational courses, free of cost to underprivileged women, promoting employability and economic independence. The organization was established by Shri Kamalnayan Bajaj, at Acharya Vinoba Bhave's suggestion, and inaugurated by Shri Balkobaji Bhave. The name "Vishwaneedam'' combines the Sanskrit words for "world" and "nest," symbolizing "a home to all in the world."

Our Mission:

To provide our students a safe and inspirational environment with well-structured and relevant courses and well-trained teachers who maximize their potential and help them achieve their goal of being gainfully employed or starting their own business.   
 

Skill-Development Training:

Many women from low-income homes in India struggle to complete their education and lack employment opportunities, making them dependent on others. JBV addresses this by teaching in-demand skills. Beyond employability and soft skills, JBV offers training in language and communication, life skills, positive thinking, personality development, business management, and etiquette.

Our courses are tailored, holistic, and need-based, designed to produce well-rounded, market-ready candidates and empower women mentally, physically, and emotionally. The engaging instructional methods include effective activities like group discussions, brainstorming sessions, and practical case studies. 
New courses are added based on student feedback and local needs. Courses last 3 months and are available online and on campus for women aged 15-50, with the option to enroll in multiple courses.

Goushala (Shelter for Cows):

Goushala, which means Shelter for Cows, was established with the intention of fostering compassion towards animals. Advocated by Mahatma Gandhi and Shri. Jamnalal Bajaj, the concept of gouseva, or caring for cows, is at the core of this initiative. 
Upholding these principles, JBV oversees the well-being of numerous cows and calves by providing them with proper nutrition and medical attention. The cattle are fed organically grown feed sourced from the campus, and a veterinarian conducts almost daily check-ups to ensure their health and welfare are maintained.
JBV contributes to sustainable environmental conservation. The cows play a vital role in this ecosystem by grazing on the organic vegetation, helping to maintain the ecological balance of the surrounding area. Additionally, their presence supports the natural fertilization of the land, enriching the soil and promoting biodiversity.
JBV not only promotes compassion and gouseva but also actively participates in enhancing and preserving the ecosystem in which they operate.

Green Oasis:

Our verdant campus promises a refreshing and peaceful environment to all its visitors. Nestled within our lush campus are an abundance of plant life and captivating wildlife, offering a serene and rejuvenating atmosphere to all who step foot onto our grounds. This oasis of greenery stands out as a rare haven amidst the hustle and bustle of densely populated and polluted urban landscapes like Bengaluru.
The architectural structures within the campus have been meticulously planned and constructed with a focus on conserving the natural surroundings and preserving the habitats of numerous bird and animal species that call this place home. These eco-conscious buildings not only blend harmoniously with the environment but also contribute to the sustainability and well-being of the diverse flora and fauna that thrive within this green oasis.
